Who We Are -
It was in 1995,that the President and Members of the Rotary Club of Madras Midtown realized the need for the specific project to help the patients from the econically weaker sections of society suffering from cancer. The Club leadership, President Rtn. Kailashmull Dugar, Club Secretary Baboolal Rathore and Club Treasurer Rtn V.K.Narayan implemented the idea by setting up the Rotary Cancer and Research Foundation(RCRF).
Contributing towards treatment and post treatment medication to the patients, in medical institutions run by the Government and the institutions like Adyar Cancer institute, The Foundation over the past years has helped over 500 patients, for treatment like chemo therapy, radiation treatment, Surgery, Post treatment medication and nutritional supplements.
Over the years many eminent persons have been part of RCRF, and functioned as trustees. The late Rotarian, past President, Habibullah Badsha, a former Advocate General of Tamil Nadu, was Managing trustee from inception till his death in 2017.
Other leaders and prominent citizens like Dr.P.C.Reddy of Appollo Hospital Group, eminent industrialist Mr.M.A.Alagappan,Chairman of Murugappa Group, Mr.Ajit Thomas, Chairman of A.V.Thomas Group of industries and businessesa and long list of dedicated and active Rotarian, industrialists, professionals and business leaders have been helping the Rotary Cancer and Research Foundation contribute to the society over the past 23 years.
